Dr. Kelley Capper

Before joining Indian Hills, I served as a High School Assistant Principal, instructional coach, and teacher at both the middle and high school levels in Kansas and Minnesota. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from UMKC, as well as a doctorate from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Indian Hills Middle School. Thank you for being a vital part of our school community and for entrusting us with your children’s education.

Caitlin Thompson
Associate Principal - 7th Grade

Ms. Thompson is joining the Indian Hills community from Summit Lakes Middle School in Lee’s Summit where she served for one year as an Assistant Principal. She previously served as a Social Studies teacher at Turner Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas and is excited to enter her 12th year as a middle school educator.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and Secondary Education from Baker University and master’s degree in School Leadership from Baker University.
Ms. Thompson is passionate about working in middle school because it offers a unique opportunity to create an engaging learning environment, foster a strong sense of belonging, and help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in high school and beyond. She is thrilled to be joining the Indian Hills community and to have the opportunity to work with your students.

Taylor Smith
Associate Principal - 8th Grade

Mrs. Smith is joining Indian Hills from Blue Valley West High School in the Blue Valley School District, where she served for one year as an Administrative Intern. Previously, she served as an Instructional Coach at Shawnee Mission South, a Social Studies teacher at Shawnee Mission West, and an 8th grade U.S. history teacher at Shawnee Heights Middle School.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and history and a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction and history from the University of Kansas, as well a building leader certificate from Wichita State University.
Mrs. Smith is honored to serve the IHMS community. She started her career in a middle school and is thrilled to enter her 13th year as a public-school educator as an Associate Principal at IHMS!
